Weatherize Springfield

Renew Missouri, in partnership with the Ozark Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC) and Good Job Construction, has begun accepting applications for Weatherize Springfield. With this program, we are seeking to provide much-needed home energy efficiency upgrades to more than 800 low-income Springfield households for FREE.

When we talk about affordable housing, utility bills are rarely a part of the conversation, but the costs of these essential services can be a huge barrier when buying or maintaining a home. Many people don’t know that utility disconnection is the second leading cause of homelessness in our area. Energy burdens eat into a household’s budget, taking away money for essentials like food and medicine. Numerous conditions – like childhood asthma – can be linked in part to poor energy efficiency measures.

As far as funding, we still have a long way to go! Your donation of $50, $100, $250, or more will make a big difference in someone’s life and livelihood.
